SERVICE CENTER MECHANIC
The primary role of the Service Center Mechanic is to repair and maintain a variety of construction tools and equipment; including, but not limited to; power tools, generators, trucks, forklifts, trailers, troweling machines, telehandlers, skid steers, concrete finishing equipment, generators, saws, and 2 stroke and 4 stoke engines. This role will focus specifically on telehandler maintenance with proficiency in electronic diagnostics. This role must also be prepared to perform unscheduled maintenance needs. Additional duties may be required at times.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have mechanical experience. This can equate to 3 years of experience or a technical degree.
- Previous work on diesel equipment, small engines, power tools, miscellaneous construction equipment
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to read diagrams for wiring schematics.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills
- Computer skills to work through email, excel, and an online work ordering system
Preferred:
- Vocational Training and/or shop experience
- Customer Service Orientated
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- CDL and / or Health Card (Class A Preferred)
- Experience maintaining a DOT fleet.
- Background with Telehandlers
Office and Travel:
Occasional travel to job sites, but very limited.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Ability to prevent mechanical failure with preventive maintenance.
- Implement electronic diagnostic program
- Teach and mentor others to use electronic diagnostics.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to immediate needs as orders come in from jobsites.
- Strong continuous improvement skills - you will be expected to improve maintenance/ communication processes.
- Research and provide input into new equipment purchases made by Warehouse Leader
- Work in a collaborative environment
- Strong time management skills
- Strongly adhere to all best-in-class safety practices, both documented and implied
