Position Summary :
The Pricing Service Manager (Director) is a critical role within the Medical Surgical CIO department, tasked with leading the development and execution of strategic pricing models and initiatives that drive profitability, market competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Finance and Strategy Service Category Manager, this role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, cost analysis, and pricing strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in pricing strategy, financial modeling, and analytical decision-making.
Role / Responsibilities :
Spearhead the creation of innovative pricing models that reflect the value of the organization’s offerings, enhance profitability, and ensure market competitiveness.
Utilize in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor pricing, and cost structures to inform strategic decisions.
Conduct detailed financial analysis and cost modeling to support pricing strategies. Evaluate product profitability, margin analysis, and the financial impact of pricing decisions on the business.
Lead and evaluate RFPs, while ensuring that the requirements are clear and expectations are set appropriately.
Continuously monitor and analyze market conditions, customer preferences, and competitor pricing strategies. Use these insights to adapt and refine pricing models to meet market demands and strategic objectives.
Evaluate all industries, not just healthcare, in order to capture state of the art processes to leverage internally.
Work closely with sales, marketing, product management, and operations teams to ensure cohesive pricing strategies that align with overall business goals and operational capabilities.
Develop and implement pricing policies, guidelines, and governance structures to ensure consistent and transparent pricing practices across the organization.
Evaluate and implement advanced pricing tools and software solutions to streamline pricing processes, improve accuracy, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
Create training programs and support structures for the sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate pricing strategies, negotiate with confidence, and maximize revenue opportunities.
Lead and manage a team of service leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s ICARE and ILEAD values.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure professional development and growth.

Ability to think big picture and connect market trends to shape internal strategies proactively
Advanced understanding of current and emerging healthcare analytics methodologies and applications in various sectors.
Effective leadership, training and presentation skills, and experience in leading multiple, highly-diverse teams to achieve results.
Strong executive presence and presentation skills, as this role will own and create the MMS CIO and ELT financial investment strategy.
Proven experience in pricing strategy, financial analysis, and market analysis, preferably within the healthcare, medical surgical supply, or related industry.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable pricing strategies.
Experience with financial modeling, cost analysis, and profitability assessment.
Excellent leadership and collaboration abilities, with a history of working effectively across functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Knowledge of pricing tools, software, and systems, with experience in implementing technological solutions to support pricing decisions.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating pricing strategies and influencing decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree (in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field preferred), or equivalent work experience.
MBA or advanced degree in a related area is highly desirable.
