McKesson Corporation is looking for an experienced professional to fill our Innovation and Ops Enablement position. The Manager of Innovation and Operations Enablement is a key role designed to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Medical Surgical CIO department.
This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiencies, leverage emerging technologies, and drive the department's strategic goals forward.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operational excellence, strategic planning, and the ability to harness innovative technologies to solve complex problems.
Key Responsibilities (List the top five to seven essential responsibilities in priority order.)
1.Develop and Implement Innovation Strategies : (20%)
Identify and prioritize innovative technologies and processes that align with the organization's strategic goals. Work with leadership on the development and execution of these innovation strategies to enhance operational effectiveness and competitive advantage.
2.Optimize Operational Processes : (20%)
Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and quality.
Analyze highly effective technology organizations and design, implement and potentially oversee improvements to MT productivity.
Drive centralized program management and implement quality measures to ensure project health.
3. Drive Technology Integration : (20%)
Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge technologies and digital solutions that enable operational efficiencies, improve data analytics capabilities, and support decision-making processes .
4.Enhance Cross-Departmental Partnerships : (15%)
Work closely with various departments, including IT, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of innovation and operational improvements.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of ideas and best practices.
5. Establish and Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : (15%)
Develop metrics and benchmarks to measure the impact of implemented innovations and operational improvements. Use data-driven insights to guide future initiatives and strategies.
6.Lead Change Management Efforts : (10%)
Work with leadership to develop and execute change management plans to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.
Address organizational challenges and resistance to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) :
Education / Training
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications in related areas are a plus.
Business Experience
- Typically requires 10 years of professional experience
- Ability to think big picture and connect market trends to shape internal strategies proactively
- Strong executive presence and presentation skills, as this role will own and create the MMS CIO and ELT financial investment strategy.
Specialized Knowledge / Skills
- Proven experience in operational excellence, process improvement, and implementing innovation strategies within a complex organizational setting.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and operational enhancements.
- Experience with digital transformation and integrating new technologies into business operations.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across departments and with senior management to drive strategic initiatives.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and change management principles.
- Experience in engaging with external financial vendors and spearheading contract negotiations to secure advantageous terms for the organization.
This includes conducting thorough due diligence, fostering strategic vendor partnerships, and efficiently managing ongoing vendor relations to optimize service agreements and mitigate risks.
