About Us

McLeod Logistics is a 3rd Party Freight Transportation Management firm specializing in full-truck-load shipments. We are a privately held company headquartered in the Creve Coeur area of St. Louis, Missouri with an entrepreneurial culture that is growing rapidly. We service a diverse customer base that consists of large to small manufacturers and distributors.

Position Summary

We are seeking an inside sales representative that would report daily to our St. Louis, Missouri office. Our ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of the domestic freight transportation industry and have strong connections in the industry. In addition, the candidate would have the desire to build new relationships, identify areas of need and provide solutions to potential customers. The candidate would then use these tools to secure business that help us meet our record-breaking revenue and profit goals.

Position Responsiblities

  • Independently identify, prospect, and develop new customers over the phone
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and information regarding potential
  • Generating new sales revenue
  • Securing internet based (Zoom, Teams, etc.) or face-to-face meetings
  • Participating in face-to-face meetings within 100 miles of St. Louis, Missouri
  • Focus on selling the core products, modes, and services of McLeod
  • Keep organized records for sales prospects
  • Meet monthly sales goals
  • Work with pricing department
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Network and participate in industry organizations
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential
  • Keeps up to date on product applications, technical services, market conditions, and trends

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent industry sales experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience with successful track record in establishing revenue from new clientele. Preferably in freight transportation industry.
  • Possess a strong sales presentation and successful closing background
  • Willingness to travel within 100 miles of St Louis for face-to-face visits
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multitask in fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated and a strong sense of urgency
  • Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with colleagues

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, standing and use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
