TITLE: Social Media Specialist
REPORTS TO: Social Media Manager, Director of Marketing

Description of the Position:
The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Managing day-to-day implementation of content for McMenamins social media accounts. This includes assisting with the planning, developing, curating and posting of content; optimizing performance and applying best practices unique to each social platform; reinforcing a strong brand voice and nurturing relationships with social communities; assisting with paid ads and promotions on multiple platforms and supporting overall company marketing strategy, events and consumer engagement initiatives. This position requires flexibility to post to and monitor social communities at night and/or on weekends. Mental agility and the ability to effectively multitask in a fast‐paced and deadline-oriented environment is required. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report safety concerns to Management. All McMenamins employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history and products. Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Job Duties Will Include:
- Implement social media strategy and best practices for several accounts across various platforms and social communities (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tik Tok and emerging social platforms).
- Create content, individually or by working with the marketing team, aimed at authentically communicating with online communities. Includes developing graphic, photo and video content consistent with the McMenamins brand.
- Interact regularly with social communities; spurring conversation, engaging with user-generated content and answering questions.
- Initiate new content ideas using video, storytelling and livestreams while working closely with multimedia team to plan, storyboard, post and help onsite production when necessary.
- Analyze and report on content, community management and ad performance and recommend ways to improve.
- Keep up with industry and platform developments on new and current social channels.
Requirements of the Job: - Experience using social media platforms for business (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Business, YouTube Studio, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field preferred
- 3 years’ professional experience managing and creating content for multiple social media accounts preferred (restaurant, hotel, agency or related industry strongly recommended)
- Direct experience with social media advertising, analysis and reporting required
- Strong writing skills, specifically for digital/social media channels required
- Experience with photography and design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign a plus
- Ability to work the hours necessary to complete the job, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays required
- Ability to travel between multiple locations required
- Interest and knowledge of McMenamins pubs and properties preferred
