SPA assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to military services and COCOMs. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.

SPA has a near term need for a Nuclear Weapons Instructor/SME.

Responsibilities

SME and Instructor applying in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of nuclear policy.

Requires demonstrated knowledge and experience in senior level staff operations, planning, or training, at the Service Staff or Joint/Combatant Command Nuclear Enterprise experience within the Operational, Radiological, Nuclear, and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction threat spectrum, including, but not limited to, national policy, strategic posture, counter proliferation, deterrence, and emerging threats. Experience in the WMD field to include, but not limited to, strategic, operational, tactical, and technical aspects of nuclear weapons, the U.S. strategic deterrent, WMD proliferation and counter-proliferation, WMD response, and consequence management, is highly desired, with focus on nuclear and radiological over other CWMD specialties.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    15 years experience and a MA/MS; or 20 years experience and a BA/BS
  • Requires demonstrated knowledge and experience in senior level staff operations, planning, or training, at the Service Staff or Joint/Combatant Command Nuclear Enterprise experience within the Operational, Radiological, Nuclear, and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction threat spectrum.
  • Other areas: U.S. strategic deterrent, WMD proliferation and counter-proliferation, WMD response, and consequence management, is highly desired, with focus on nuclear and radiological over other CWMD specialties.
  • Experience in course development and instruction, planning, developing, evaluating, revising, and conducting courses, and advising other instructors on nuclear weapons instructional matters
  • Current TS/SCI eligibility with the ability to maintain throughout time of employment
