We are looking for a heavy equipment operator who has at least 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment. We aren't looking for someone who knows everything, but rather, someone who is willing to step into a leadership role and grow.
We are a small, but growing, excavation contractor based out of South Weber, in Davis County.
Our benefits include health insurance, vision, and dental the month following 30 days of employment, 5 days of PTO, and 6 paid holidays.
We also offer a $300 boot allowance after 3 months of employment.
Responsibilities :
- Operate equipment to effectively complete all jobs assigned within the designated time limit.
- Prepare daily timecard with multiple tasks, machines, and employees, each itemized separately.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plan and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions when clarification is needed.
- Direct laborers in assisting to complete job.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Safety check of job site and equipment.
- Basic maintenance and lubrication.
- Staking / Blue Stakes review.
- Install all utilities for commercial and residential projects.
- Prep for subgrade, footings, and all flat work.
Qualifications :
- Must have 2 years of experience.
- Must be able to show proof of age over 18, identity, and right to work in the US.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Must be familiar with the operation and minor maintenance of excavation equipment.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Able to take orders and follow direction.
- Must be able to learn and retain information day today.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform considerable stooping, kneeling, and digging.
- Strong work ethic.
- Drug-Free.
