Experience work/life balance with Meadowood!To keep all who experience Meadowood safe COVID-19 vaccinations are required for hire.EMT/EMR (FT, 7:00pm – 7:00am)Rates up to $23.69 an hourPrimary Function: Respond to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, for Independent Residential clients and Personal Care client living at Meadowood. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. Must work 24 hours per month, 16 hours weekdays & 8 hours weekend. One winter holiday & one summer holiday, required. Qualifications: Must possess and keep current a valid Emergency Medical Responder or higher certification issued by the Department of Health, including a current BLS CPR Card. Graduate from an accredited program of Emergency Medical Technicians and holds a current PA certification; has a CPR certification; has medication administration training and passes medication technician course; respect for capabilities and individuality of elderly residents; compassion, initiative and integrity; good organizational skills and flexibility; ability to maintain an even temperament in demanding situations; leadership, particularly during emergencies; clear, open, and fair communication skills; computer knowledge.Responsibilities: 1. Responds to all emergency calls in a calm, timely, and efficient manner. 2. Responds to all fire and medical alarm systems and supports the investigation of any incidents endangering the security of residents, staff and/or community. 3. Administers basic and restricted advanced life support to patients at the scene, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and standards. 4. Assesses the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed.5. Communicates emergent needs/concerns to physicians, Security staff, and Community Emergency Personnel as needed. Keeps Department Director and Strategic Team members aware of incidents, changes, and concerns with both residents and staff through proper documentation and notification. Follow up on incidents as required. 6. Accurately communicates care needs and concerns to other departments through verbal reports, incidents reports, and chart documentation. Assures that reports and documentation are timely and accurate in electronic medical record. 7. Reviews daily CommView and RCare calls and checks on all residents that shave shown no movement in the residential unit. 8. Reviews the Communication Book in Resident Care and gets report from nurse going off duty. 9. Provides home visits as needed. These visits may include but are not limited to: welcome home post hospital or ED discharge, sick check-in, post fall check in, resident request for visit due to a change in their condition. 10. Assists in snow/ice control as directed. 11. Reports incidents of fire, theft, burglary, etc., immediately to the VP of Plant Operations.
