Position Overview :

As a Patient Intake Coordinator , you will play a vital role in facilitating the intake process for patients seeking medical services.

You will be responsible for gathering and verifying essential patient information, ensuring insurance coverage, and completing necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.

Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and compassionate approach will ensure a smooth and positive patient experience at our facility.

Responsibilities :

  • Greet patients and visitors with courtesy and professionalism, creating a welcoming environment.
  • Collect patient information, including personal details, medical history, and insurance information, via electronic medical records or paper forms.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, including coverage details, copayments, deductibles, and pre-authorizations for services.
  • Clearly explain financial responsibilities to patients and help them understand insurance benefits and billing procedures.
  • Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-ups with healthcare providers or departments.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and complies with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines at all times.
  • Respond to patient, provider, and insurance company inquiries, both in-person and via phone.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to facilitate seamless patient care.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, filing documents, and processing referrals.

Requirements :

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, specifically in patient intake, registration, or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Compassionate, empathetic demeanor with a commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive patient information.
