Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor & Delivery team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate and expert care to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to supporting a positive birthing experience.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pregnant women during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being, recognizing and responding to any deviations from normal.
- Labor Support:
- Assist and support women during labor and delivery, including providing pain management, coaching, and emotional support.
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions.
- Postpartum Care:
- Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including breastfeeding support, education, and monitoring for complications.
- Assess and manage postpartum hemorrhage and other potential post-delivery issues.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate patient care and interventions.
- Patient Education:
- Educate expectant mothers and their families on prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
- Provide information on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond effectively to obstetrical emergencies, such as shoulder dystocia, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage.
- Stay updated on emergency protocols and participate in drills.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Continuing Education:
- Stay informed about advances in obstetric nursing through ongoing education and training.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- NJ RN license required
- BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association Required
- Previous Acute Care Experience
- Must have 2 years L&D experience
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring with in 6 months of hire,
- Prior Scrub Nurse experience helpful but not necessary,
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
