Medallion foods is a pasta manufacturing company located in Frederickson and we are currently looking for an experienced manufacturing machine operator with mechanical aptitude to join our team.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for manufacturing pasta products as set out by production schedules and customer specifications. Must be able to work with raw materials properly blending according to specifications. Perform moisture tests throughout drying process to ensure quality product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(These duties are not limited, there may be additional responsibilities added.)
- Responsible for ensuring the product is produced properly set for by production schedule, customer and work orders
- Perform start-ups and shutdowns 30% of the time.
- Responsible for proper operation of process machines, flour system and flow and water system.
- Checks the quality of the product as it is being produce to ensure quality as it dries.
- Performs line and quality checks 40% of the time.
- Ensure proper flow of product.
- Handle and change dies for proper production schedule.
- Ensure dryer system is operation accurately.
- Records daily productions and any concerns that may arise and forwards these reports to the Production Manager.
- Performs sanitation PM’s on a daily basis (30% of the time) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- High School Education or equivalent
- Essential Skills
- Must be able to perform each "essential duty and responsibility" satisfactorily.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general company policies and departmental procedures.
- Must be able to read and understand weights and measure to ensure proper amounts of ingredients for processing.
- Maintain processing equipment on a daily basis.
- Ability to understand production, quality and safety reports..
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and production staff.
- Read and follow instructions accurately to ensure efficiency and quality of finished product.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of people.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, walk, us hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, talk and hear, occasionally sit, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must have excellent color vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Team Member will be exposed to manufacturing environment.
- Team Member will be inside.
- Noise levels may require hearing protection.
- Occasionally working in various temperatures, i.e. around oven and/or packaging equipment that may result in warmer temperatures.
