What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDGB- Packer position at Medegen Medical Products/Medira?
Packages and inspects materials and products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Performs highly repetitive trimming, flaming, assembyl, inspection, counting, and packaging of injection and blow molded components and parts.
- Visually inspects product for defects as defined in the QAS (Quality Assurance Standard).
- Counts parts and individual packages within cases either by stack height or weight as required.
- Insures that cases are labeled correctly, in the proper sequence, stamped with an operator/packer stamp, and stacks cases on pallets.
- Performs secondary operations as required.
- Refers questions to Associate Supervisor and/or Production Supervisor.
- Notifies the Associate Supervisor and/or Production Supervisor of part discrepancies in regards to production, appearance, and/or quality issues.
- Notifies the Associate Supervisor and/or Production Supervisor of any potential inventory shortages related to the supplies required to perform the job at the assigned machine.
- Notifies production supervisory staff and/or technicians in the event of any machine malfunction and/or product defect.
- Reworks/sorts defective product as necessary.
- Maintains a steady rate of work as to meet or exceed standard labor costs.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner (floor must be clear of parts). Includes disposing of regrind parts and trash correctly.
- Participates in 5S projects as required.
- Must have regular, reliable attendance with the ability to work outside the normal work schedule when required.
- Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to recognize similarities and differences between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud and requires hearing protection.
