What are the responsibilities and job description for the HCC Risk Adjustment Coder Auditor position at Medica?
Medica's Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) Risk Adjustment Coder Auditor is responsible for identifying, collecting, assessing, monitoring and documenting coding information for diagnosis codes. You will ensure the accuracy, completeness, specificity, and appropriateness of diagnosis codes based on services rendered and review medical record information to identify all relevant coding. This is a senior level professional position that is accountable for more complex responsibilities with minimal supervision and may serves as a resource to others.
Key Responsibilities:
The full salary range for this position is $54,100 - $92,800. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. Key Responsibilities:
- Review medical charts to ensure accurate diagnosis coding and documentation
- Research and resolve assigned coding projects
- Conduct ongoing analysis of medical record charts to ensure coding compliance
- Participate in team meetings as needed to provide information and updates
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 5 years of relevant experience beyond the degree
- Coding Certification required - AAPC/AHIMA (CRC, CPC, CPC-A, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA)
- Strong knowledge of coding practices, HCC risk adjustment, and medical record analysis
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to others
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
