What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food & Nutrition Supervisor position at Medstar?
General Summary of Position Job Summary : The primary function of the Supervisor is to coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the Food & Nutrition department and to ensure that each service area (production / culinary, retail, utility and patient services) are providing quality food and service in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
This is a full time opportunity. You will be scheduled for the evening shift and be required to work rotating weekends. Primary Duties :
- Assists in the development of department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Provides daily operational leadership and oversight of the food and nutrition department.
- Participates in rounds with patients and unit staff to ensure quality of food and nutrition services are maintained.
- Assist's in selecting, training, orienting, and assigning department staff.
- Communicates with other departments in the hospital to maintain effective working relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of food service experience required.
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Licenses / Certifications :
