A Day in the Life
In this exciting role as a Sr. EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, programs, and systems to comply with Federal, State and local EHS regulations as well as Company policies, strategies, initiatives and goals. Major areas of emphasis include employee health and safety programs including ergonomic injury reduction and industrial safety, waste management, air emissions, wastewater discharge, and energy monitoring. You will monitor workplace safety risks and environmental impacts through observation of work processes, equipment, and the work habits of employees with emphasis on Workers Compensation Management and Ergonomic programs.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.Develops, administers and implements environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
- Interacts with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements and assists in regulatory audits.
- Represents Company in government and industry rule-making activities.
- Identify and take corrective action against activities that pose potential threats to workers’ health or safety, which may include recommending organizational measures to protect workers’ safety through revised methods, processes, or materials; inspecting workplace environments, equipment, and/or practices to ensure compliance with standards and regulations; and investigating and/or identifying causes regarding filed incidents.
- Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist.
- May provide/promote employee awareness/training on matters of environmental, health, and safety.
- Help develop, administer, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
- Review and analyze safety and wellness documentation issued by regulatory agencies; collaborate with regulatory agencies to determine corrective action plans.
- Evaluate proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public, and environmental impact.
Must Have – Minimum Requirements

- Bachelors degree required.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant EHS Safety related experience or Advanced Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant EHS Safety related experience.
- Bachelors degree in EHS, Science or Engineering.
- Certified Safety Professional - CSP Certification.
- EHS program development
- EHS training experience
- ISO EHS Management Systems & Risk assessment
- Workers Compensation Management
