What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Engineering Program Manager position at Medtronic?
The preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work remotely within the US (United States) or onsite at another US-based Medtronic facility.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead the implementation of our Digital Transformation Live Link platform with experience executing global at scale deployments. This role will be accountable for controlling, and leading the projects within the Live Link program, specifically deploying digital solutions across our Medtronic Plant Network. Must be able to work and foster One team spirit in matrixed organization and with multiple vendors. This position is strategic in nature and will be expected to regularly interact with and influence senior and executive leadership on many topics to drive critical decision-making and successful outcome.
This role ensures alignment between top-down strategies / vision and bottom-up comprehensive integrated planning/roadmap and oversee delivery excellence by partnering with both Medtronic internal stakeholders and external partners.
The Program Manager is accountable for overseeing, mobilizing, and directing the program teams and partnering with external partner(s) through all phases of the program to achieve KPIs (Key Performance Indicator), including on-time, on-budget and within scope and all required program deliverables, This role will hold self and others accountable by enforcing governance, defining accountability mechanisms for delivery excellence and improving transparency by reporting out accurate and timely program status with focus on mitigating risks, resolving issues, and managing change impacts to avoid disruption.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
· Development of scope of work, project plans, schedules, forecasts, budgets, and operating mechanisms for your projects.
· Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
· Manages the implementation process in coordination with Agile Scrum Masters and cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing digital solutions that are part of Live Link product platform.
· Organizes the coordination of activities across internal functions, outside suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
· Assesses and oversees all resource planning efforts to maximize utilization.
· Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
· Monitors the project from initiation through delivery; reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
· Lead project communications – project strategy report, budget reports, progress report, communication on changes to project plan, organize reporting, plan meetings, provide updates to different levels of management (manufacturing site leadership team, other Program Managers, and upper management).
· Manage and report on capital, expense, budgetary forecasting, and savings portfolio for Live Link Program
· Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
· May need to travel (<25%), depending on project implementation needs, to different manufacturing locations.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
