What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Manager position at Medway Public Schools?
1.Willing and able to take and pass any/all training and certification courses needed for daily operation.2.Trains and assists general food service workers in the proper handling of foods, correct use and care of equipment and high standards of sanitation and safety.3.Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including but not limited to, storeroom, refrigerator, freezer and serving lines.4.Checks food shipments into the school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified and in satisfactory condition.5.Determines the quantities of each/all foods to be prepared daily, as well as appropriate serving sizes according to USDA regulations.6.Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested, uniform recipes, and before it is served.7.Completes production reports daily and records all meals served.8.Communicates with students, staff, faculty, and outside organizations to exchange information, receives suggestions, and resolves issues related to food service.9.Verifies cash draws and daily transactions, makes bank deposit.10.Oversees the opening and locking of the storerooms, refrigerator and freezer, and maintains a correct monthly inventory, and sees that stock is rotated.11.Orders on a weekly basis all necessary food, drinks and supplies.12.Reports immediately to the Food Service Director any problems, accidents and personnel issues relating to the food service program.13.Sees that all kitchen equipment is in good working order, if not puts in a maintenance request.14.Calls in substitute workers when necessary and instructs them in their duties.15.During lunch periods, see that food lines are kept filled. Assures adequate food is available for each lunch.16.Completes time sheets and submit to food service director.17.Oversee catering for school functions, sports banquets and off site parties.18.Keeps accurate records for any/all required reports or logs.19.Performs any/all other duties as assigned that relate to the food service program.
