Job Summary
The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) plays a crucial role in providing mental health support and services to individuals in various settings. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide grief counseling and support to individuals experiencing loss or trauma.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting a supportive environment for participants to share and learn from each other.
- Implement behavior management techniques to assist patients in developing coping strategies.
- Engage in outpatient care, providing ongoing support and monitoring of patient progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Stay informed on medical terminology and current research related to mental health practices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- A degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is required.
- Experience in grief counseling and group therapy is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and mental health practices is essential.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and patient care strategies is necessary.
- Ability to conduct research to stay updated on best practices in mental health treatment.
- A background in Christian counseling is a plus but not required.
