What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Mega-Bev?
Job Purpose:
Exemplify Mega-Bev’s Mission independently. Assist the Store Manager in performing all management responsibilities and tasks. Perform all Sale Associate functions and help train and coach staff. The hours for this position will require flexible availability on days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Accurately count deposits, follow overages/shortages, and manage payment systems, accounting, payroll and all other banking.
2. Follow company procedures to assist in writing orders, filling special requests, getting credit for damaged products, and following through to ensure accuracy. Must be able to plan and forecast ordering needs based on time of year/season and sales history.
3. Receive deliveries through efficiently checking products in, verifying costs & credits, writing checks, calculating prices, faxing purchase orders, and inputting new items per company policy.
4. Assist in managing the store inventory schedule, identifying patterns, and strategizing to minimize shrinkage in all departments. Must be able to adjust inventory when necessary to maintain proper inventory levels.
5. Must offer superior customer service at all times by approaching customers, locating products, utilizing the special request sheet and carry product out for customers. Must also set an example for acceptable register etiquette.
6. Routinely condense and merchandise displays per company expectations, print tags and signage as needed.
7. Must be able to keep all department shelves well faced and stocked, ensure all products are on the floor for sale and easily accessible to customers. This includes keeping the correct products for the season in the cooler sets.
8. Must be able to plan, schedule and implement cleaning and organization standards to keep the overall organization and appearance of the store above company expectations.
9. Oversee and manage the work of merchandisers and other staff that may be working in our store to ensure products are accurately priced, displays are properly built and product is put away in correct locations per company expectations.
10. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi task.
11. Assisting in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching new staff members. Also handle exit interviews when necessary.
12. Must understand all duties of the Store Manager and be able to cover when or if needed.
13. Must be able to handle all duties of a Sales Associate and lead by example.
14. Must be able to communicate well with people, be able to effectively resolve conflict, be compassionate and understanding to the needs and concerns of our staff.

16. Must promote, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.
