Automotive Parts Lead - Arlington Truck Center

MEI, Inc is searching for an Experienced Automotive Parts Lead to manage the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced parts department. The ideal candidate has successfully managed a profitable and efficient automotive parts department and is experienced with purchase order procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing and production management principles

Responsibilities

  • Manages and performs the daily parts Review, Sourcing, Receiving, Allocating and Returns and core handling processes.
  • Work with the Service Manager and Shop Foreman’s to ensure a timely turnaround of parts sourced for Warranty, Reconditioning Team and Customer Pay repairs
  • Adheres to established parts sourcing and purchasing policies including purchase orders, returns and core management
  • Provide technical assistance to Fixed Operation department employees
  • Optimizes and enforces parts department processes to control cost and aging of vehicles in production
  • Audits performance of all phases under the impact of the parts depart as well as the performance and adherence of each parts team member to increase departmental efficiency.
  • Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system
  • Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit of parts and labor if applicable
  • Maximizes use of all order discount programs to ensure cost savings
  • Manage and Lead the effective use of the production software to ensure effective and efficient workflow of all team members in the part dept.
  • Lead, Develop and support new hire parts specialist

Requirments

  • 1-3 years of experience working with automotive parts (auto body parts is a bonus)
  • Solid problem-solving abilities
  • Above average computer proficiency
  • Above average organizational skills
  • Ability to keep up and succeed in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong negotiation skills to be able to shop and negotiate best prices
  • Ability to work well with others and achieve common goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Experience, Education, Skills, And Knowledge

  • 3 years’ experience in Parts Department Leadership operations
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations and sourcing
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively lead and work as a member of a team
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate an automobile

Schedule

  • Full - Time
  • 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday -Friday
  • (Occasional Saturdays)

Compensation

  • $22 Hourly (Depending Upon Aplicable skills, knowledge, and abilities with montyly bonus potential)
