Job Description:
As an Automotive Service Writer at Meineke, you will be the bridge between our customers and our skilled technicians. Your role will be crucial in ensuring a seamless customer experience from the moment they walk in until their vehicle is ready. This position requires a blend of automotive knowledge, sales acumen, and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide outstanding service by addressing their automotive needs and concerns.
- Write detailed service orders, including customer information, vehicle information, and a description of the problem or service requested.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining necessary repairs and maintenance in a clear and understandable manner.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and obtain customer approval for services.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Upsell additional services and products to enhance the customer’s vehicle maintenance and repair experience.
- Maintain and update customer records and service history.
- Manage service schedules and appointments to optimize shop workflow.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and follow-ups professionally and promptly.
- Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a service writer or similar role.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work some weekends (Monday through Saturday availability).
- Friendly, personable, and able to multitask effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with automotive software and computer skills is a plus.
