Technical Support Specialist Job Description

Our Intelli‐Hood Division is looking for a full‐time HVAC Technical Support Specialist with experience in the HVAC or Controls industry to help take our company to the next level. As a small‐medium sized business in the emerging energy efficiency space, our goal is to grow sales 20% per year and maintain our international leadership position in the Demand Control Ventilation industry. The ideal Technical Support Specialist will be able to strengthen relationships and provide customer support to existing the customer base while maintaining a high level of service excellence. Minimum 3 years of related work experience in HVAC system design, installation and/or service is required.

Technical Support Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Focus on front‐line HVAC technical phone support of Intelli‐Hood Demand Controlled Kitchen Ventilation (DCKV) systems for customers, contractors, and Melink HVAC technicians who have problems in the field and need help troubleshooting.
  • Maintain contact and favorable relationships with our current National Account customers.
  • Resolve customer issues/problems rapidly and thoroughly.
  • Research and make recommendations for potential service enhancements or modifications to meet the ever‐changing needs of the customer base.
  • Serve as a technical liaison to the Sales and Applications Teams.
  • Fulfill part order requests from various customers needing replacement parts in their existing systems.
  • Coordinate troubleshoots and request support for a technician to be on site when necessary.
  • Any other job duties as assigned.

Technical Support Specialist Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience in HVAC system design, installation and/or service.
  • Mechanical/electrical knowledge required.
  • Associate degree or Trade School Certificate in related field preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have superior customer service skills (i.e. excellent written and verbal communication skills, high emotional intelligence, positive attitude, and a service leadership philosophy).
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of integrity, and a penchant for high quality.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of self‐accountability.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, and ERP (SAP) systems desired.
  • Troubleshooting basics for Allen‐Bradley VFD’s as well as basic understanding of ABB and
  • Danfoss VFD troubleshooting a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Intelli‐Hood DCKV a plus.
