Support the District Manager in coaching and developing the team so that they have a thorough understanding of how to best drive operational performance to ensure that Melrose stores are consistent with and in compliance with company guidelines and visual standards.
The DM Assistant should possess strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and train. Needed skills for this position are as follows:

Motivation skills
Meet weekly with the District Manager to determine the current needs of the district and lay out itinerary for the week. Must be willing to travel throughout the Dallas district. Schedule is determined by DM and is based on the needs of the district, so flexibility is required. Must be open to a changing itinerary depending on the most pressing needs of the district. 40 hours week, occasionally more, if needed.
The direction for the week may include assisting the DM with:
• Hiring
• Orientation
• Training
• Recruiting
• Reinforcing policies
• Compliance
• Promoting teamwork
• Building employee morale
• Help with Store openings/closings
• Audit as needed and/or assist LP Manager whenever needed
• Conduct cycle counts or assist a new store manager or a store that is short of management staff
• Cover as store manager when a store need arises and until a permanent solution is found.
• Teach, Train or reinforce all operational, LP, HR policies and procedures and merchandise presentation.
