POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the merchandising of specific categories within a department across all stores, executing &
communicating directive from upper management. Primarily involved in product adjacencies, space optimization,
planograms, displays, fixtures, point-of-purchase, price signage, new store setups, and remodels.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Merchandising, Planograms, and Tasks
-Coordinate and execute planogram updates into all stores within assigned categories, for items
selected by the Buyers, following an agreed upon merchandising strategy
-Draft planograms for all store layout & market variations that maximizes floor space
-Ensure planograms have an optimal product flow, contain the correct SKUs, meet recommended
max, promote stocking efficiency, promote the self-serve concept, and are Guest friendly
-Ensure all product dimensions are correct in PIM and obtain samples as needed
-Develop displays & point-of-purchase by working with Buyers, Vendors, and Graphic Designers
-Perform test sets of proposed planograms to ensure accuracy & discuss feedback
-Create all supplemental detail pages & photo checklists provided for planogram execution
-Issue tasks to the stores communicating all updates to planograms, displays, and in-store signage
-Ensure all planogram values are properly uploaded into System V and SKU Manager
-Plan all promo endcaps, gridracks, and cross merchandising for the department as assigned
Blueprints, Fixtures, and Signage
-Communicate blueprint updates to Store Planning (maps, elevations, power, fixturing, etc)
-Route requests for fixtures to be ordered as needed, understanding fixture lead times
-Develop POP signage content & placement – route requests for signs to be ordered as needed
-Create and set up all in-store price signage including bintags, decals, and printed signage
New Stores & Remodels
-Travel to new stores and remodels to assist with the setup, answer questions & verify completion
-Travel to existing stores to ensure compliance with merchandising tasks and to gain feedback
Other
-Other job tasks as assigned by the Merchandise Manager, Senior Merchandiser, or Chief Merchant
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a business-related field such as Management, Marketing, Sales, or
Retail Merchandising –or– equivalent work experience - Retail (store) experience is a plus
- Must be analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and creative
- Must be able to solve problems and come up with solutions/recommendations
- Effective time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a wide range of people – extensive collaboration required
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while working on simultaneous projects
- Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Must be willing to work an average of 48 hours per week, including weekends as business dictates
- Travel is required, including air travel and occasional overnight stays
- Relocation to the Eau Claire, WI area is required
