Menlo Park Academy (MPA) is seeking a School Principal to direct all educational and staff functions in one of the most unique and highly-rated schools in Ohio. Key Responsibilities
Educational Program – Working directly with teachers, managesthe implementation of the program based on board-approved guides and best practices in gifted education at the direction of the Director of Education. Assists with the development and ongoing updates of a comprehensive Curriculum Guide. Coordinates implementation of curriculum based on student needs and analysis of assessments. ·
Personnel Management – Provides direct supervision of educational staff members and assists with the selection, onboarding, and training of instructional staff, the intake and training of substitute teachers, and the implementation of performance management tools and metrics. Coordinates daily substitute coverage needs.
Continuous Improvement – Works with the instructional staff to facilitate the articulation and realization of a shared vision of continuous improvement; focus on setting, monitoring and achieving specific goals that reflect high expectations for all students and staff by managing a systematic approach to collect and analyze data regarding MPA’s progress towards its goals.
Program/Event Management –
Collaborate with the leadership team to supervise the logistics of pertinent school events and programs such as science fair, spelling bee, etc.
Relationship Management –
Maintain relationships with ODE, gifted advocacy groups, community educational partners/providers, and school’s sponsor.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education and/or Administration.
- Classroom teaching experience of at least five years.
- Proven ability to operate with high-level of leadership skills.
- Experience in achieving cognitively gifted students’ learning needs through teaching, counseling and/or administration.
- Understanding of Ohio laws and regulations for public community schools.
- Successful administrative or program leadership experience, building leadership preferred
