Job Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist works as a human resource representative to complete various HR functions such as record-keeping, compliance, policy review, employee engagement, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding while working in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and the rest of the HR team.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Leads the recruitment process for office staff positions including developing recruiting strategies, managing job posts, reviewing candidates, participating in interviews, etc.
- Develop strategies for adequate onboarding processes which include meeting all compliance requirements as well as provides a smooth and welcoming incoming experience for new employees.
- Update payroll system and other databases with employee changes, including new hires and terminations.
- Maintain human resources record keeping and statistics within compliance of employment law, company policy and best practice.
- Assist with program and employee policy, creation review, revisions, and interpretation when needed.
- Assist Director of Human Resources with scheduling, reports, filing, correspondence, and other transactions as needed.
- Send communications to Mission Network employees on behalf of human resources or upon request.
- Maintain position and/or placement descriptions for Mission Network employees and program participants, including assisting with reviewing, revising, and/or creating position descriptions as needed.
- Oversee employee performance review program.
- Assist with planning and coordinating organizational gatherings and trainings.
- Coordinate other employee events and farewells.
- Create or receive, edit, and post information on Mission Network’s sharepoint landing site.
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of current labor laws and regulations within the local regions, states, and countries of operation.
- Promote a culture of confidentiality and respect.
- Serves as a representative of Human Resources to assist Mission Network staff with accessing and utilizing the services of the Human Resource department.
- Serve as back up for other department and/or divisional positions.
- Participate as a contributing, dependable, and cooperative member of assigned teams.
- Provides a positive support for organizational initiatives and departmental goals.
- Foster relationships within and outside of Mission Network.
- Collaborate with interagency work groups as needed.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years Human Resources experience
- Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred, or combination of further education and additional related experience.
- Human Resources certification helpful but not required
