Menorah Park, a multi-care setting for seniors is seeking a Director of Human Resources. The candidate must have 5 years experience in Human Resource management.
BROAD FUNCTION (Employee Relations) To create, develop, implement and coordinate an overall employee relations function that will attract, motivate and retain a work force that produces the optimum level of performance for the facility. To provide advice and counsel to the facility in the areas of organizational development, compensation and benefits, personnel policies, and union issues.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (Employee Relations):
Develop and implement personnel policies and practices that will ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees. Communicate changes in policies to employees and managers.
Administer the recruitment process so that it provides for an adequate number of candidates and new employees, on a timely basis. Advise and counsel managers to ensure that the most effective candidates are selected.
Serve as the employees advocate to the Administration. In this regard, advise the Administration on the direction which employee policies and programs should follow in order to maintain an interested and motivated work force.
Ensure that company policies are consistent with affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and all other legal requirements.
Verify that all new employees are eligible to work in the United States. Maintain a file on all non-citizen employees and notify them of pending expiration dates on their eligibility.
Maintain applicant flow log and employee hire, termination, and transfer logs. From this information, compile monthly and yearly turnover statistics.
Provide new and progressive morale building programs for all employees.
Insure that all levels of management understand and uniformly deal with the Union Contract.
Review all pending employee terminations with the Department Manager, and Chief Executive Officer, when applicable.
Administer an effective performance evaluation system.
Oversee the employee safety program for the facility.
Maintain a listing of all Certified Nursing Assistants. Ensure that a copy of their certificate is in their personnel file. Re-certify all qualified nursing assistants on a timely basis.
Attend grievance and labor management meetings. Document and type a summary of the dialogue and agreements reached in these meetings. Prepare the Chief Executive Officers answers to grievances.
Oversee all wage and benefit programs. Ensure that billings are correct, and transferred to Bookkeeping on a timely basis. Perform wage surveys as required.
Oversee the Workers Compensation, PFL, FMLA and Disability programs.
Ensure that unemployment claims are handled on a timely basis. Prepare for, and attend all unemployment hearings.
Conduct weekly new employee orientation.
Ensure compliance with all COBRA requirements.
Experience with a Union facility.
Must have Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility experience.
