Mental Health Association of Nassau County (MHANC) is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to improving mental health in our community through advocacy, education, program development and the delivery of direct services. MHANC's Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS) program seeks dynamic and motivated individuals with a passion to serve the underserved mental health population by becoming an PROS Advisor. PROS advisors
PROS offers adults with serious mental illness a broad range of integrated services designed to help them achieve goals for work, education, relationships, socialization, living, and health and wellness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments of prospective members as needed and serves as a back up to the Intake Worker
- Participate in the admissions and discharges of members in the program
- Facilitate PROS groups and individual sessions with members and ensuring program and agency guidelines are maintained
- Structure a learning environment in order to facilitate goal attainment
- Participates in individualized recovery plan development along with the member and other individuals of their choosing
- Prepare all necessary reports to include IRP Plans, scheduled reviews, monthly progress notes, contact notes, monthly medication review, and other PROS forms and assessments as required
- Participates in the on-call rotation and is available after program/clinic hours for consultation and support for member emergencies as needed
- Any other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education: BA / BS degree. Masters Degree and / or Professional Certification / Licensure preferred
Credential/License: LMHC, LCSW preferred
Skills/ Ability:
- Computer proficiency including knowledge of electronic health reporting and Microsoft Office (Word)
- Capacity to provide recovery based rehabilitative approaches with adults with psychiatric disabilities and associated functional impairments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to physically intervene in a crisis situation as needed
- Ability to satisfactorily complete required documentation with regard to due dates and content
- Capacity to work with multi-disciplinary team
