MEP Health is searching for medical scribes to be part of an amazing team of over 60 physicians and 40 advanced practitioner providers (APPs) practicing at a variety of emergency departments (ED) and urgent care settings in Wisconsin. As a scribe with MEP, you will work in collaboration with your attending physician(s) and APPs to provide acute care to patients. On the job, you will:
As a scribe with MEP, you will work in collaboration with your attending physician(s) and APPs to provide acute care to patients. On the job, you will:
- Be the physician’s shadow, documenting all pertinent medical information.
- Assist with documentation of each patient’s medical record during his or her stay in the ED by accompanying the physician into the patient rooms in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
- Document procedures performed and results of labs, imaging, or other evaluations. You may also document pertinent information when a consultant is called, and updates/reassessments of the patient.
- Pay attention to what is happening with each patient to update the note accordingly and finalize it by listing all proper diagnoses as well as any discharge/follow up instructions and prescriptions, under guidance of the physician.
We provide a two hour orientation and on-the-job training with a veteran scribe to ensure your success and have shift needs that can fit into your busy schedule.
Scheduling
- We need scribes to work:
- Mornings, days, and evenings (no overnights!)
- Minimum of 40 hours per month, maximum of 130 hours per month
- Every 2nd or 3rd weekend
- 1-2 holidays per season
- Shift times are as follows: 8am-3pm, 11am-9pm, and 3pm-10pm
Pay Scale
- Hourly pay is $16/hr
- After one year, a $2/hr raise will be added
- For each additional year after that, another $1/hr raise will be added
