What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager - Power I position at MEPPI?
POSITION SUMMARY
Manage all business development activities for the Power-I substation monitoring platform including marketing, sales, and customer relationship management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop business opportunities by defining customer needs and working with the Power-I development team to create deliverable solutions.
- Develop, recommend and execute product marketing and sales strategies to build brand awareness and secure sales of the Power-I platform.
- Prospect and develop new customers and pursue customer leads through sales calls, competitive analysis, marketing campaigns and trade show participation.
- Facilitate product presentations and demonstrations of the Power-I platform to existing and prospective customers.
- Represent MEPPI as an industry expert on electric utility maintenance practices.
- Identify, secure and grow relationships at target and key accounts with goal of attaining annual and long-term business and sales plan objectives.
- Meet with existing customers and prospective clients to identify their current and future substation monitoring and related needs. Utilize this knowledge to focus sales efforts, improve existing products and identify potential new products and services.
- Meet regularly with management to review and coordinate business development efforts to ensure continued focus and success in meeting and exceeding sales activity and revenue targets.
- Maintain knowledge of market business and product trends. Continue to pursue and improve product knowledge and sales skills. Enhance business intelligence in the substation monitoring sector.
- Develop sales proposals for existing and prospective Power-I customers.
- Collaborate with internal software development team members to identify and qualify new features that bring value to the core Power-I platform.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of MEPPI through effective dealings with customers, stakeholders and other MEPPI divisions.
- Know MEPPIs Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Software Development with a minimum 10 years of experience in technical enterprise software sales and development, or equivalent education and experience.
- Intermediate understanding of Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning Technology.
- Intermediate knowledge of the North American electrical power industry.
- Ability to perform successfully with minimal oversight and limited resources.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with commercial negotiation and technical sales skills.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with prospects, customers, employees and industry experts.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products to prepare reports, analysis and schedules.
