What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager - Group Services position at Merakey?
POSITION SUMMARY
This position manages the day-to-day operations of assigned program(s). This role manages supervisors and/or individual contributors and delegates tasks and activities of staff to ensure program and quality standards are met. This role may manage a caseload of their own.
Staff Management
- Interviews, hires, trains and supports a level of staffing to meet client/staff ratio and program operations
- Develops and enhances employee competence and effectiveness by providing on-going guidance, mentoring, feedback and motivation to staff adhering to department and Merakey policies and procedures.
- Delivers annual performance evaluations, promotions, and terminations as necessary.
- Leads process involving collective bargaining unit agreement with regard to terminations, willful misconduct and higher-level violations to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to consistently, per guidelines. Hold supervisors accountable for collective bargaining unit fact finding and grievance process for lower level violations such as attendance and performance.
- In absence of a supervisor, accountable for fact finding and grievances for lower level violations such as attendance and performance.
- Teaches, communicates and demonstrates behavior in support of Merakey Core Values.
- Develops and demonstrates collaborative work environment in support Merakey Core Values.
Program Operations
- Manages daily operation of program(s)
- Disseminates clear expectations to staff, ensuring they have the tools they need, monitors performance, and then following through with accountability if expectations are not met through supervision or corrective action.
- Monitors program performance in light of key indicators and compiles data as requested
- Implements policies/procedures as directed
- Represents program(s) in ongoing status meetings with County, State and managed care providers
- Represents Merakey regarding funding in absence of Program Director
- Assists with the development of quality improvement efforts, and reviews and evaluates program goals, activities, policies and procedures
- Maintains group schedules, if needed
- May monitors authorizations and treatment plans
- In absence of a supervisor, documents attendance, verifies weekly timesheets, monitors available leave and schedule adherence, approves and denies leave requests, and tracks FMLA usage
- Participates in the marketing, development and expansion of programs (e.g. developing programs and proposals to expand services)

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree -Masters preferred -from an accredited and recognized organization.
Up to 6 years 1-year supervisory experience working with children and families in mental health. Experience with children and young adults with Autism preferred.
