Position Summary:
As a Senior Agile Coach, this person will be critical in guiding teams, leaders, and the organization in adopting the Agile Mindset and Agile methodologies. This individual will lead the Agile transformation by training teams, coaching teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work with Mercury Leadership to get collaboration on the importance of Agile to an organization. Serve as a change agent by advocating for Agile principles and practices at all levels of the organization. This will create the proper sponsorship.
- Work with the Organizational Effectiveness team to design and create a detailed plan for the agile transformation of Mercury domain teams.
- Train Agile teams, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners. Make sure individuals understand their roles and how they interacts with the rest of the organization. The focus here is the agile mindset and the value of agile.
- Train Agile teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners in Agile methodologies (focus on scrum), including all Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily scrum meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring teams adhere to Agile principles and ceremonies
- Provide hands-on coaching and support to Agile teams in breaking down complex initiatives into manageable tasks, prioritizing work, and delivering value incrementally.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification required; Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working as an Agile Coach in software development or related fields
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven track record of successfully guiding Agile transformations in complex organizational environments.
- Deep understanding of Agile principles, values, and frameworks, with practical experience implementing Agile methodologies.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and leaders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with distributed teams and remote collaboration tools preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address organizational impediments to Agile adoption.
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development in the Agile domain.
- Experience using Jira as an agile management tool
- Occasional travel to CA expected (perhaps every other month)
