Summary
The HR Business Partner drives the talent strategy for a growth business that makes leading edge and advanced microelectronics solutions profoundly more accessible to the Aerospace, Defense, and Space industries. Reporting to the HRBP Director, the Principle HRBP will be a member of the Site Management Teams and have HR accountability for the multiple businesses located at the Oxnard, CA and Fremont, CA facilities. The HRBP will utilize the HR centers in Talent Attraction, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Solution Center and the HR Business Partner team to deliver the full HR service model to leaders and their staffs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with and advises management on the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the business unit or function level.
- Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues while also attempting to resolve with a systematic approach.
- Assists management in the development of HR solutions through organizational development as well as cultural and process-oriented perspectives.
- Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock renewal, workforce planning, and organizational change) to support the HR function.
- Assists management in the creation of workforce objectives while considering feasibility, cost benefits, and potential HR program applications.
- Collaborates with the division HR team, respective HR COEs and business leaders to drive workforce planning, compensation planning, talent management and succession planning for members of the leadership team
- Leads business initiatives and manages employment cost to ensure alignment with established objectives and budgets.
- Lead the Employee Engagement strategy with each of the leaders and their teams to drive high levels of performance.
- Advise leaders on the interaction with business teams and functions to enable the successful implementation of Mercury's matrix structure including RACI development and operational cadence.
- Manages employee relations and prepares EEO and affirmative action programs to support the HR function as needed.
Key Capabilities/Experiences/Leadership Behaviors:
- Demonstrated success in HR areas of strategic workforce planning, organizational design, recruiting, talent development, employee relations and related HR functions
- Demonstrated fluency in workforce market trends and the ability to identify future opportunities to attract, engage and retain talent
- Experience working in a production environment and building the trust of an hourly production workforce
- Strong analytical skills to make confident, timely, data-driven decisions on hiring, engaging, compensating, and retaining talent
- Developer of talent and diverse high-performing teams assigning clear authority and accountability
- Demonstrated success working in a matrixed organization, the ability to influence without authority and engage for impact across cross-functional groups and stakeholders
- Has a passion for innovative technologies, digital transformation, and is a life-long learner
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with customers and at various organization levels
- Strong personal and business values that align well with Mercury's values, mindsets and behaviors
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required
- 7 years' experience in human resources
- Able to travel approximately 20%
