What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor Operations position at MERCURY SYSTEMS?
In This Role:
Responsible for manufacturing operations of the site, group of work cells or a plant. Key priorities are to meet safety, production goals (On Time Delivery), Quality, Inventory and Cost objectives.
You are responsible for:
- Provide high quality level of leadership and coaching for the production employees.
- Create a positive work environment where everyone has the opportunity to perform at their very best.
- Implement a DAILY Management process.
- Understand all relevant KPIs and drive to meet /exceed targets.
- Ensure production schedules are met to meet customer needs and completion of all paperwork entries are timely and accurate.
- Manage and monitor the relationship of downtime, changeovers, and process improvements as it directly relates to quality,
- Optimize setup times and programs by working with engineering to improve equipment and operational efficiencies.
- Understand, follow, and enforce internal documented procedures as well as AS9100 requirements.
- Recruit, develop, retain, and maintain a high-quality team.
- Collaborate with the operations leadership team as well as BU / corporate ops teams where needed.
- Perform regular audits to verify conformance to quality systems, production schedules and working hours.
- Able to know who should meet what requirements (interpret specs / blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, recommend measures to improve production methods.
- Ability to lead / motivate a team to the highest standards of work.
- Ability to run the production floor with best manufacturing practices within Lean Operating System Context.
- Highly collaborative and team worker within a High-performance Work Environment.
- Strong bias for action and sense of urgency.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- 5 years of experience in an electronic manufacturing/production role (RF & Micro Electronics experience preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience supervising teams in a related discipline
- Experienced in (or good knowledge of) Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment and its regulatory requirements.
- Strong end to end manufacturing knowledge (planning, purchasing, scheduling, industrial engineering, quality...etc.)
- Good understanding of Lean and Six Sigma tool sets (5s, 8D, best practice, continues improvement, DMAIC...etc.)
