What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Manager position at Mercury Transportation Solutions?
This position is designed for an experienced and dynamic individual who wants to be at the frontlines of training of our employees and their continued career development.. The ideal candidate is someone who has has built and implemented a training program. As the Training Manager, you will be responsible for helping employees cultivate their skills and knowledge upon hire and continually.
Responsibilities:
Training Duties include the following:
-Lead and deliver all required initial classroom training for newly hired employees.
-Oversee onboarding process prior to new hire start dates.
-Work with leadership and managers to determine continuing training and development needs.
-Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.
-Prepare educational material such as tutorials, videos, and presentations.
-Support and mentor new and existing employees.
-Plan and schedule training sessions.
-Work closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition & Development to ensure all training materials are current and up to date.
-Develop monitoring systems to ensure that all employees are performing job responsibilities according to training.
-Actively assist in the growth and development of Beemac University.
-Keep training programs vibrant and entertaining in order to engage employees and trainees.
-Provide online and conference call training session for offsite employees.
Qualifications:
You MUST possess the following:
-Knowledge of terminology specific to the industry and company.
-Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
-Must be a compelling public speaker.
-Must have the ability to engage trainees in discussions during educational sessions.
-Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
-Must have strong time management skills as well as be an effective multi-tasker.
-Exceptional leadership and management skills.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Word programs including PowerPoint for the purpose of producing training materials and presentations.
-Must have excellent reading comprehension skills as well as the ability to be an active listener.
-Must have strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
-Must have good problem solving and decision-making skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
· Education and Experience:
-Only those with 2 years of experience as a trainer in transportation logistics will be considered.
-Experience working with McLeod Transportation Software is preferred.
-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field is preferred.
· Work Environment:
-Must be able to work M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM along with odd hours as it is not always feasible to handle all training or marketing duties during regular office hours.
-Must be able to travel to branch office locations to conduct training sessions.
-Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with a demanding time schedule.
