Job Description
Provides patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Documents patient treatment and progress toward goals in the patient’s electronic health record. Implements established treatment programs and provides patient and family education.
Job Duties
- Administers physical therapy treatments and various modalities under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
- Instructs, motivates and assists patients and their families in appropriate continued physical therapy programs as well as care of and use of adaptive equipment.
- Observes and reports patients’ responses to treatment and progress and reports orally and/or in writing to the Physical Therapist.
- Collaborates with Physical Therapist and other health team members to exchange and discuss patient information for planning, modifying and coordinating treatment programs.
- Assists in assessment of patient’s skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
- Supervises and oversees department rehab aides for patient care related areas.
- Precepts in the direction and evaluation of clinical experience / internships of students from participating colleges and universities.
- Stays abreast of current developments and new technology in physical therapy.
- Provides formal orientation to new Physical Therapy Assistants, aides and volunteers.
- Maintains safety of the work environment including equipment and notifies appropriate personnel if necessary.

Employment Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: 2 Year/Associates Degree
Licensure/Certification Required: Licensed in State of Ohio PT/OT/AT Board
Licensure/Certification Preferred: CPR Certification
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: O; clinical practicums
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with co-workers, physicians, patients and families. Analytical abilities to assess patient conditions, capabilities and progress. Complies with all applicable laws and regulations and practices.
