Assist therapists in care of patients, including transfers, gait training and therapeutic exercise. Maintain clean, safe working environment. Maintains professional relationships with patients, families and staff. Adheres to MMC/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.
Responsibilities include:
· Safely transfers patients between all surfaces as instructed by therapist/assistant
· Provides appropriate guarding of patients during ambulation as instructed by therapist/assistant
· Assists patients in performing therapeutic exercise programs as instructed by therapist/assistant
· Observes patients' response to treatment physically and psychologically and reports any changes to therapist/assistant
· Maintains a clean safe environment for patient care
· Maintains all logs as required (OT fridge, hot pack, cold pack, washer/dryer, paraffin, splint pan, crash cart)
· Maintains inventory of therapy supplies and submits orders in a timely manner
· Maintains professional relationships with staff, patients, families and students at all times
Qualifications include:
Education: HS diploma or equivalent
Experience/skills: Health care experience preferred
Licensure: BLS Required.
