Overview:
The EEG/EKG Technician works under the supervision of the Director and performs Electroencephalogram (EEG), Visual Evoked Potential (VEP), Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEP), Electrocardiogram (EKG), Holter Monitor hook-up and scanning. Signal Averaged EKG (SAECG) and Stress Testing. Responsible for charging, logging and archiving of procedures. May be assigned additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Secondary.
- Experience: Less than one year.
- Certifications: BLS Basic Life Support Within 3 Months Of Hire. Basic Arrythmia course Within 6 Months Of Hire.
- Other: Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. The ability to relate testing knowledge and theory to EEG and EKG procedures and equipment and to interpret results and isolate the most accurate readings are essential. Able to operate various office equipment, including a computer, fax machine, printer.
- Preferred Education: Completion of EKG and EEG training courses/seminars.
- Preferred Experience: Previous healthcare experience.
