Overview:
Position is responsible for the overall operation of the business office and ensuring that the department team is functioning as a cohesive unit. Responsibilities include establishing, monitoring and achieving goals, and development of policies and procedures. The manager also implements new procedures and programs to improve workflow and effectiveness of the department. This position interacts with patients, representatives of third-party payors, physicians, and collection agencies, outside legal counsel, other ancillary departments and representatives from other Sisters of Mercy Health System departments. This position ensures appropriate collections to meet targeted KPIs. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy values.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Four to five years experience required.
- Education: Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or equivalent experience required.
- Certifications: None
- Other: Must possess superior analytical, oral and written communication and problem solving skills. Must be able to maintain positive relationships with other departments and resolve department and intradepartmental problems relating to receivables management goals while maintaining expenses within budgetary constraints. Must be familiar with and proficient in relevant software applications used in PRM. Must be familiar with Government regulatory guidelines.
