What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Procedure Scheduler position at Mercyhealth?
This position is responsible for scheduling procedures and testing within the Clinic setting. Communicates effectively with providers and nurses to ensure these tasks are completed within the required timeframe. Documents thoroughly and according to department and health system guidelines and expectations. May include variable shifts, no weekends or holidays. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule patient tests and procedures in EMR.
Reviews daily work queues.
Loads, verifies and updates patient demographics.
Scans, loads and verifies insurance coverage.
Reviews all Alerts in Epic and refers patient to a PFC when necessary.
Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality per MHS policies.
Works independently.
Can handle multiple priorities while managing stress appropriately.
Other job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in scheduling testing and procedures in EMR preferred.
Post high school course work in medical terminology preferred.
Graduate of a HUC program preferred.
Certification/Licensure
Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
Special Physical Demands
The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Medium work: Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and or up to 20lbs frequently, and or up to 10lbs constantly. Manual dexterity needed to operate telephone and keyboard.
