Description
The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographs, fluoroscopic, portable, emergency CTs, (if working after hours shifts routinely) surgical radiographic procedures, as necessary. These procedures will be performed on various ages of patients in accordance with the age-specific delivery of care policy. This person will be able to operate all radiographic equipment and process images as needed. The radiologic technologist will be available for emergency call and will also perform clerical and transporting duties as assigned by the department manager
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of approved School of Radiologic Technology.
EXPERIENCE: Clinical experience in school of Radiologic Technology.
LICENSURE: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certified (ARRT), State of Iowa permit to practice. Valid driver’s license if operating Skiff vehicle.

Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and follow written instructions in English.
- Must demonstrate ability to cordially deal with the public.
- Must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Must have current license to practice in the State of Iowa.
- Must maintain current licensure in CPR.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license if performing mobile examinations with the MercyOne vehicle.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all clerical duties in the front office.
- Demonstrates knowledge of image maintenance and filing system.
- Demonstrates knowledge of use of equipment in office, such as computer, fax/copier.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the transportation of patients and patient care.
- Assists in coverage of department and telephone communications.
- Demonstrates knowledge of scheduling outpatients and inpatients, with the proper preparations.
- Demonstrates competence in being able to work independently taking radiographs, portable, fluoroscopically, surgically, and emergency CT scans (if working after hours and oriented).
- Identifies Age Specific needs of patient and complies with the same.
- Performs all duties as a Radiologic Technologist, along with being able to take emergency call with a response time of 20 minutes.
