What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classified Trainer position at Mesa Public School?
Position
To provide, under the supervision of the Classified Trainer Senior, quality training and professional development for Special Education instructional assistants and clerks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Special Education instructional assistant
- Ability and willingness to work with special education directors and staff to ensure consistent messaging
- Ability to work well with campus staff to promote and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and use technology effectively
- Ability to organize, prioritize and follow classroom guidelines as put forth by teacher
Essential Duties
- Provide training for all Special Education instructional assistants and clerks
- Provide training for instructional assistants conducting fidelity checks
- Assist teachers with QPS testing
- Assist coaches with fidelity checks, modeling, testing, and training preparation
- Collaborate with administration to create professional development curriculum
- Model professional, safe, responsible and respectful behavior
- Perform general clerical tasks to support Special Education instructional coaches and administration
- Participate in various meetings to share information and/or improve skills or knowledge
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective functioning of the work unit

Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities

- May lift, pull, push or carry
- May stand for a prolonged period of time
- May move light weight furniture
- May require strength to push/pull 30-35 lbs
