What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Associate position at Meta Development?
Primary Function
The Development Associate will assist in the overall due diligence process, development, project coordination, management and successful completion of a project in a timely and cost-effective manner, taking pride in delivering projects at a high standard of quality, on time and on budget. The development Associate provides support to and work in collaboration with META Development team, reporting to Chief Operations Officer, and supports construction and prospective development project activities, adding to the processes to improve corporate results.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for project coordination, making sure that the project will happen on time, cost, and
with high quality.
· Coordinate due diligence process.
· Ensure projects procedures are consistent with corporate philosophy.
· Understand the company product and ensure continuous improvement.
· Attends meetings with consultants and municipalities as needed.
· Works closely with all the departments to monitor and expedite the development process.
· Cost tracking and analysis related to project costs, and soft cost budget.
· Development and control of project schedule and corporate pipeline and identifies project
slippage.
· Contract administration (contracts, invoices, paid to date) of soft cost budget.
· Development of process to improve the results.
· Coordination of paperwork for consultant’s contracts and payments.
· Coordinate permitting process, to get the necessary approvals, doing researches and obtains
· information regarding all applicable codes and regulations which would affect the successful
· development of a site; determines timelines for permitting processes.
· Facilitates and actively participates in development meetings., and prepare reports and
presentations as needed.
· Ensures that site files are organized, maintained, and updated.
· Market analysis understanding comparable, strength and weakness.
Qualifications and Experience
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial Real Estate, Urban Planning, Engineering or related field. Architectural experience preferred.
· Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Architecture or related field.
· An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
Knowledge and Skills
· Advanced knowledge in project coordination, understanding the interdependence of project areas.
· Exposure to construction documents and terminology desired.
· Excellent communication skills, with ability to express ideas clearly and objectively, orally and in writing.
· Ability to perform according to agreed plans with direct supervision.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
