Strategic Response Writer Responsibilities:
- Write and edit statements, newsroom posts, op-eds, narratives, executive talking points and other written materials defending the company, often on very tight deadlines.
- Quickly research complex issues and identify our strongest arguments to specific charges.
- Effectively incorporate a large amount of feedback from stakeholders across legal, policy, product, communications and leadership while preserving key messages and pushback to specific charges and keeping Meta's writing understandable by general audiences.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across global, cross-functional teams.
- Provide strategic recommendations on messaging around complex and sensitive issues.
- Create compelling narratives about Meta's people, products and role in the world.
Minimum
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in communications, journalism, speechwriting, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a relevant field.
- Experience crafting narratives on tight deadlines.
- Experience communicating complex concepts in simple language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with and writing for executives or high-profile public figures.
- Professional experience in political, technology communications or a related sector.
- Strong grasp of Meta's products and technology as well as issues relevant to technology companies and the technology sector.
- Experience working with international teams and writing for global audiences.
