Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Body Shop Assistant Manager to oversee the operations of our automotive repair shop. The Shop Manager will be responsible for managing a team of techs and ensuring the efficient and timely completion of all repair and maintenance tasks. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with both staff and customers.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics, auto painters, detailers, and other shop personnel
- Assign tasks and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Roll up your sleeves and perform repair work
- Monitor workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff when needed
- Perform quality control checks on completed repairs to ensure adherence to standards
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering parts and supplies as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and warranty claims in a professional manner
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive repair
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Shop Manager or similar role in an automotive repair shop
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair, welding, sheet metal work, auto painting, detailing, and mechanical processes
- Proficient in using hand tools and other equipment commonly used in automotive repair
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in auto restoration projects
- Mechanical knowledge
