Multi-location subsidiary of leading regional metals recycling company in Pittsburgh area presents great opportunity for an Accounting Manager to manage staff, assist with monthly close, provide data analysis, prepare managerial reports and other special projects.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of monthly data analysis reports from transaction records.
Significant participation in monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting processes.
Manage the accounting staff who are responsible for daily billing, collections, and payables.
Assist in compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Review requisitions and prepare Sales Contracts and subsequent changes.
Supervise about 3 office employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.
Backup for certain inventory/production report activities, including: the preparer of daily production report and entering inter-yard production.
Preparation of monthly data analysis reports from transaction records.
Prepare and record GL transactions and account reconciliations.
Significant participation in monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting processes.
Posting and paying bills.
Processing customer advances.
Processing employee expense reports.
Invoicing.
Settlements - post and apply cash receipts (follow up on notable discrepancies).
Update weekly price list.
Review weekly AR aging and follow up of past due invoices.
Inter-company transactions.
Review/post daily transactions.
Update customer pricing as they come through.
Collect daily petty cash activity from each yard and provide recap to Controller at month-end.
Prepare daily ATM cash outlay report.
Qualifications:
Individual must be detail oriented, highly organized, and have the ability to prioritize/manage multiple tasks.
Experience with computerized general ledger systems.
Demonstrate analytical skills using Excel to organize data.
Experience with inventory controls and procedure preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
3-5 years of experience in general business accounting environment.
