Role Value Proposition:
As a member of the Expense Center of Excellence, the Financial Consultant position will be responsible for US based regional expense analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare analysis on US based regional expense allocations (forecast, actuals and budget submissions) and present to regional FP&A teams
- Input forecast/budget into GEM for US based regional expenses
- Supports QFS segment expense reporting
- Partner with regional FP&A
- Conducts research, compiles analysis, presents findings, and assists with other ad hoc expense reporting activities as needed
- Assisting in developing business requirements, documenting procedures and processes, and testing as needed
- Continually seeking opportunities for improvement in accordance with LEAN principles, and partnering with internal and external teams to implement best in class processes
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 5 years of experience in accounting/finance or reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or an applicable field of expertise.
Preferred:
- CPA, CMA or MBA a plus.
- Knowledge of insurance industry, including GAAP and statutory accounting / principles a plus.
- Strong PC skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint). SharePoint knowledge is a plus
- Proficient in financial data/accounting software such as PeopleSoft GL and Reporting, HFM, HFM SmartView, GEM, Cubus (Executive Viewer).
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong customer service skills while considering the audience and understanding their perspectives, objectives, and challenges through knowledge inquiry, listening, and learning
- Facilitates collaboration through sharing information, communication, and building relationships
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and effectively cope with change, including independently learning new skills and knowledge as required
- Manages performance independently and effectively meeting deadlines and expectations
