Role Overview:
Metric Engineering, Inc. is looking for a CADD Technician to join our ITS/Traffic Design group in Lake Mary, FL. This position will be responsible for developing and preparing ITS/Traffic construction plans using Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software’s (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD). They will also ensure that plan preparation follows the appropriate design criteria, procedures and guidelines.

They will also ensure that plan preparation follows the appropriate design criteria, procedures and guidelines.
Day-to-Day:
- Performs a variety of technical, production and design activities associated with civil engineering and planning of projects
- Prepares CADD working drawings and project specific ITS/Traffic construction plans
- Assists in plan preparation of transportation projects
- Revises drawings with specific instructions
- Performs technical reviews of ITS/Traffic designs
- Prints working drawings using a plotter and develops electronic plan documents
- Creates estimated time requirements for projects
- Attends project specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
- All facets of the plans production process and other ancillary tasks as required
- Perform field reviews as required
- Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) graduate with certification or equivalent experience
- 1 years of CADD experience preferred, ITS/Traffic design experience is a big plus
- Solid understanding of plan production and CADD drafting techniques
- Experience using Bentley MicroStation SS10 and Bentley Connect is preferred
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with other team members to collaborate on same projects, particularly related to technical information
- Strong ability to organize projects and tasks while staying on schedule and meet required deadlines
- Knowledge of ITS/Traffic design utilizing FDOT CADD standards, electronic delivery, roadway, drainage/stormwater, utilities, signing and pavement markings, and signalization would be a plus
