POSITION TITLE: Bakery Clerk
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Bakery Manager

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
To provide wrapping, stocking and customer sersvuicpep ort for the Bakery
Department.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Emphasis in this position is to consistently sceerv ciustomers and to prepare and display product to ensure maximum sales and pro advuacitlability. Primary learning challenge is product knowledge, sequence of worwk ,f land production speed. This position requires ongoing social skills/verbal rinatcetion, reading, standing, walking, moderate lifting, and operation of finishing anda wppr ing equipment. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business n. e Aedssignments and work direction are provided by the Bakery Manager, Bakery Merchisaenr dor person in charge.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
1. Provides friendly and efficient customer service d beymonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interacti ons.
2. Throughout the store, greets customers in a ge naunidn efriendly manner. Learns customer names and uses them respectfully in gnrgese. ti
3. Assists customers throughout the s tboyre:
- Escorting them to products they are looking for
- Loading or unloading heavy items and assisting wpritohducts that are out of reach
- Offering product and/or recipe suggestions andm remceondations
- Responding to customers’ questions and requesat sti mine ly manner
- Treating them as the most important people in ttohree s

5. Demonstrates teamwork to ensure customer satiosnfa acntid a pleasant working and shopping environment.
6. Finishes bakery product
- Allows baked goods to cool and glazes/drizzles oaprpiarte product
- Cleans department and maintains conditions in athcek broom
7. Wraps bakery product
- Slices and bags bread and buns
- Transfers product to trays or containers
- Shrink wraps when appropriate
- Labels all wrapped product

8. Stocks, rotates and faces bakery product
- Pulls stales and writes down product, quantity raentadi l
- Prepares sales area by cleaning cases and bins
- Stocks shelves, bins and cases, checks price arinfide sv esign and product price
9. Assists customers with questions and requests
- Attends to customer needs for ordering, informa ationnd counter service
- Greets customers in department and offers suggee setilvling
- Answers department calls

13. Education and/or Experience
-High school education (or concurrent enrollmen at nin educational institution) preferred but not required
