POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Liquor Lead ACCOUNTABLE TO: Store Director PRIMARY OBJECTIVE To coordinate and provide support in Liquor sales and customer service. NATURE AND SCOPE Emphasis in this position is on coordinating Liquor ordering, merchandising, customer service, department maintenance, inventory control and product variety of Liquor product and strong service levels. This position is responsible for providing effective training, development and work direction for department associates and requires ability to encourage individual and group effort toward department objectives. This position requires ongoing judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, reading, writing, math, lifting, standing and operation of pallet jack, forklift, ordering machine, box cutter and register. Position functions may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction are provided by the Store Director or person in charge. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS 1. Provides friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions. 2. Throughout the store, greets customers in a genuine and friendly manner. Learns customer names and uses them respectfully in greetings. 3. Assists customers throughout the store by: · Escorting them to products they are looking for · Loading or unloading heavy items and assisting with products that are out of reach · Offering product and/or recipe suggestions and recommendations · Responding to customers’ questions and requests in a timely manner · Treating them as the most important people in the store 4. Sincerely thanks customers for their business and choosing our store. 5. Demonstrates teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment. 6. Implements and maintains coordinated, aggressive, and creative merchandising using division guidelines, which maximizes sales, variety and gross profit -Creates attractive and creative displays -Integrates new and seasonal items into displays -Utilizes a strong signing program 7. Orders stock for Liquor department -Ensures orders are placed in allotted time Liquor Lead/Page 2 -Determines proper quantity needed on projected sales -Records each order on calendar -Maintains familiarity with movement of key items and ensures a minimum of over and under stock -Communicates with vendors effectively 8. Plans, delegates and writes associate work assignments -Plans and writes work lists and labor schedules -Delegates assignments, provides training and work direction, and monitors to ensure completion 9. Completes department paperwork -Retails invoices daily, stamps, logs, records and sends to office -Verifies invoices to purchase journal -Reviews management report -Takes inventory accurately as needed 10. Assists with department personnel functions -Assists with training and development of new and existing associates -Assists with performance reviews and corrective action administration -Communicates and works with management as appropriate to above functions 11. Assists with coordinating in-store and media advertising -Meets with other store personnel to plan in-store holiday sales and merchandising plans; keeps department product properly signed -Notifies POS of specials and price changes 12. Assists customers and monitors to ensure proper service levels and courtesy from all associates -Ensures customer service is prompt, courteous, and accurate -Helps customers make selection -Assists or delegates associates to assist customers with special orders, questions and price checks 13. Coordinates and assists in receiving and pricing all liquor product -Checks shipments for content and quality -Verifies delivery to invoices and signs -Retails and prices all product as necessary and puts on shelf or display -Ensures proper pricing in all store and department systems 14. Assists in managing department safety and sanitation programs -Ensures maintenance and sanitation standards, proper lifting, and all related safety rules and procedures are followed Functional Requirements Frequent: Physical – lifting/carrying 25 to 55 lbs., pushing/pulling 50 to 2500 lbs., standing, reaching, turning, walking, stooping/bending, equipment operation (calculator, scanner, intercom, register, telephone, box cutter, flatbed, pallet jack) i. Liquor Lead/Page 3 Mental – reading, writing, math, judgment/decision making, social/ verbal interaction Occasional: Physical – lifting more than 55 lbs., equipment operation (adding machine), squatting 15. Follows all store and department policies and procedures 16. 11.
